After your breakup has ended your relationship, you've found this cute girl, and you plucked up the courage to ask her out. To your relief and delight, she said YES! But, you are still worried. You simply don’t know how to impress her. To add to your misery, you are feeling nervous about meeting this angel of yours.

Relax about feeling nervous! Your heart throb might find your nervousness alluring for a few minutes, but after that you must learn to relax and have fun.  It's hard getting back into dating after a breakup.

If you want to make your girl feel that she is dating a “cool” guy, you must take care of your general appearance. Here are a few tips to help you look smart and self-confident.

1. Your Attitude

Your attitude counts more than your looks. Show your woman that you are really enjoying her company. Look into her eyes and smile. She will love you all the more if you can prove beyond doubt that you can really dance without stepping on her toes.  

Show the girl that you care. Exhibit your sense of humor and make her laugh. Women easily fall in love with men who can make them laugh. Just relax and have a good time.  

You must make looking good part of your nature. If you succeed in impressing the girl during the first date, don’t make the mistake of disappointing her during the second or third date. This means you must continue being what you showed yourself as during your first date. 

2. Dress Well 

Women have an eye for detail and notice things that you never knew exist. Your girl will notice a missing button or windswept hair. Before you leave home, check if your shoelaces are done, your cufflinks are in place, your tie is in order, and your hair is neatly brushed.  

Don’t pull on crumpled clothes. If you want to look attractive to your girl, choose your clothes with care and dress really well. 

3. Your Shoes, Watch, and Wallet 

Some research studies have shown that, as far as a woman is concerned, shoes maketh the man! Now, you might not understand the logic of this, but do have a look at your shoes before you meet your girl. See that the shoes are new, well-polished, and fit the clothes you are wearing.  

Most of the time, watches are the only pieces of jewelry men wear. Again, research has shown that women admire men who wear large macho watches. Your watch tells a woman plenty about your tastes and nature. 

Purchase a good leather wallet. Don’t stuff it with bills, receipts, and other bits of paper that you cannot explain. Instead, place it into the pockets of your jacket. Don’t stuff it into the pocket of your trousers. 

4. Your Cologne

You must smell good. Your woman will surely notice it if you emit a foul odor, and you will never see her again. Use some nice-smelling aftershave and cologne. 

5. Take a Good Bath

Obviously, you will never see this girl again if you go to her without taking a good bath, especially if you are the type that sweats a lot. So take a good bath and spray some deodorant in your armpits. Trim your fingernails. Brush your teeth and gargle with mouthwash.  Smell is one of the most primal emotions we have.  It's just as important as what you look like.
